You Deal With Jack From
First Call To Final Sweep
Newton's Tree Services is run by Jack Newton, who has spent 12 years working in the canopy across the Surrey, Kent and Sussex borders. Jack quotes every job himself, works on site with his three-man crew, and is the person you speak to if anything needs sorting.
That matters, because tree work goes wrong quietly: an unqualified climber, an under-insured outfit, a crew that leaves a garden full of chippings. Here you get NPTC and City & Guilds tickets covering felling, aerial cutting, climbing and rescue, £10m employers' and £5m public liability cover, and a site left tidier than it was found.
- Free quote, no charge, no pressure, no salesperson
- TPO and conservation-area applications handled for you

A Straight Answer On Tree Surgery In Surrey, Kent And Sussex

Most people only call a tree surgeon two or three times in their life, usually when something has already gone wrong: a limb over the conservatory, a leylandii hedge that has quietly doubled in height, or a storm-damaged trunk leaning towards a neighbour's fence. That makes it hard to judge who is actually qualified to do the work, which is why we put the credentials up front rather than burying them.
Newton's Tree Services covers tree removal in Surrey and Kent and technical dismantles, crown reductions, lateral reductions, crown thinning, crown raising, dead-wooding, stump grinding, hedge trimming and reducing, site clearance, tree planting, dangerous and wind-blown tree removal, emergency tree surgery, tree inspections and surveys and bird box installation. Whether it is a single fruit tree in an Edenbridge back garden or a row of mature limes needing rigged sections lowered over a Sevenoaks driveway, it is the same crew and the same standard.
Qualified and insured, not just experienced
Jack holds NPTC and City & Guilds chainsaw certificates, with endorsements covering maintenance and cross-cutting, felling up to 380mm, tree climbing and aerial rescue, and aerial cutting and free-fall techniques. Insurance sits at £10 million employers' liability and £5 million public and products liability. If your insurer, managing agent or local authority asks for documentation before work starts, we can provide it.
Protected trees and conservation areas
A large share of the trees across tree surgeon Oxted territory, Westerham, Bromley and Tunbridge Wells sit under a Tree Preservation Order or inside a conservation area, and cutting one without consent is an offence that carries a serious fine. We handle TPO and conservation-area applications and any other council or estate paperwork on your behalf, you do not need to work out which form goes where.
What happens to the waste
Arisings are chipped and cleared as part of the job. If you would rather keep some of it, logs are sold at £100 per tonne bag and woodchip at £50 per truck load of up to three tonnes. Customers consistently mention the same thing in reviews: the garden is left tidier than it was when the crew arrived.
Quotes, pricing and timescales
Quotes are free. A site visit is usually carried out within seven days of your enquiry, and the finalised written quotation is sent the same day as that visit, so you are not left chasing a price for a fortnight. Pricing is job-specific rather than a fixed rate card, because access, height, target zones and disposal vary enormously between sites. The only fixed prices are logs, woodchip and basic tree surveys, all published above. Emergency and storm-damage call-outs are available out of hours, and a workmanship guarantee is available on request.
